From invincible to incurable: Multiple Sclerosis changed me for the better
“Once you come to acceptance, you realise it’s not that bad. If you’re not pushed, you’ll never discover what you’re truly capable of.”
These powerful words from Dr. Ahmed Shatila, Neurology Consultant at Sheikh Shakhbout Medical City, encapsulate his extraordinary journey of resilience after being diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis (MS) at just 21 years old.
Last year this inspirational medic was honoured in the 11th edition of the Abu Dhabi Awards, presented by UAE President, H.H. Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan. We’re delighted this year Dr Shatila has joined our panel of independent judges for ‘the mentl awards 2025’.
