2025 WINNER · Energy industry

For employees working at remote onshore and offshore sites, support has to fit the realities of the job. Long work cycles, distance from family and safety-critical responsibilities shaped ADNOC’s Energy for Wellbeing programme.

Launched in August 2023, the programme connected people, work, social and environmental wellbeing. Its 2025 entry described how mental health services were being made easier to access across a dispersed workforce.

What they did

ADNOC made in-house psychiatry and psychology services available and added psychological assessment to occupational health provision. Post-incident support helped employees affected by difficult workplace events. Face-to-face counselling was complemented by teleconsultations.

Wellness Desks helped people navigate appointments and referrals. An Employee Assistance Programme and health applications extended access to employees and their families, including multilingual support. In 2025, a Mind Harmony Survey gathered information on stress, job satisfaction, support and work-life balance.

What the entry shows

The entry reported more than 250 mental health sessions and roadshows during 2024–2025, reaching 25,000 employees, particularly at onshore and offshore sites. That demonstrates the scale of delivery, rather than a measured improvement in health for every person reached.

The submission described several ways into care, from a workplace conversation to a specialist appointment. This access model is the clearest practical evidence in the story.

What others can learn

For employers with dispersed teams, making a service available is only the beginning. Employees also need a workable route into it, in a suitable language and format, with help navigating the next step.

ADNOC’s approach brings that route closer to the workplace while connecting everyday support with professional care.
