MeNOW Health’s My Menopause Companion grew from a gap in understanding and support. Founder Kausar Tahir, a clinical pharmacist, wanted women to have a clearer way to recognise changes, prepare for healthcare conversations and connect with others navigating midlife.

What they did

The development process included conversations with more than 300 women and input from specialists in the GCC, UK and US. Their concerns helped shape three connected features: symptom tracking, accessible education and community.

Launched in May 2025, the app offered English and Arabic content. Tracking included physical, mental and emotional symptoms, with notes to add context and a report users could take to a healthcare appointment. Community activity extended beyond the app through workshops, seminars and conversations.

What the entry shows

The submission reported more than 500 users since launch. It documented the consultation process, the bilingual product and the education and community activity around it. At this early stage, these are signs of delivery and adoption, rather than evidence of a measured clinical effect.

The story’s practical strength is the way lived experience and professional input were translated into a tool intended to help women feel better informed and less isolated.

What others can learn

Useful support starts by listening to the people it aims to serve. Language, cultural context and the opportunity to record concerns can shape whether information is accessible and usable.

For employers and community organisations, the broader lesson is to make space for informed menopause conversations and routes to appropriate professional support.
